The movie room, Sunset terrace, beautiful dining room, and library are my mother's favorite places. I toured a handful of communities in the area and Amaran is hands down the best there is! My mom is coming around to the idea that she now lives in a luxury apartment, not a "home"! Edit to my very favorable review. PLEASE think twice about this place. So much staff turnover. Care has gone down the drain. Mom has a rash on her right shin that needs a steroidal cream. She also has cellulitis on hir right calf. Steroidal cream should not be used for more than 14 days or there is a risk of skin breakdown. They are putting the steroidal cream ON THE WRONG PLACE! Her rash is still there because it isn't being treated and the cellulitis is worsening because they are treating it wrong!!! Nurse "has to look into it". And beside this, mom went 2 weeks with no shower. WTF? Incompetent. Executive director is unapproachable. New nurse is Incompetent. Moving my parents ASAP.

Our Mom had been living in her home when she told us she needed more care than my sister and I could provide.  We decided to start looking at assisted... read more living communities for her.  After visiting a few, we walked into Amaran Assisted Living and Memory Care, and it was like a breath of fresh air.  We knew then that we had found a perfect place for our Mom.  It was bright, cheery, and immaculate.  All of the staff we met with were professional and enthusiastic.  We met with Peter Goldschmidt who was so helpful to us during this time and went out of his way to find Mom the perfect apartment!!  We were able to decorate her apartment, so it looked just like her home.  Once Mom moved in things only got better for her care and services. Her apartment was beautiful, the food excellent, and the activities abundant! Now Mom is in Amaran Memory Care, and we feel confident that she is receiving the best possible care available.  The staff is wonderful, kind, and knowledgeable about what mom needs.  There are many activities at Amaran Mom can participate in.   You can participate in as much or as little as you want to.  Mom tells us she loves the Amaran staff and is happy there.  Everyone is so nice. Peter showed me around the facility and answered my questions without giving me a "pitch". Many of the activities encourage personal growth and engagement with the community.
