The staff are incredibly helpful, kind, and supportive in every way. Thus far I have interacted mostly with Mr. Peter Godeschalk in administration - - he has been a godsend in terms of support, help, and kindness. For all of us who need help with our elderly family members, I cannot recommend Amaran enough; I feel privileged, lucky, and have complete peace of mind that my loved one can live at Amaran.

Our Mom had been living in her home when she told us she needed more care than my sister and I could provide.  We decided to start looking at assisted... read more living communities for her.  After visiting a few, we walked into Amaran Assisted Living and Memory Care, and it was like a breath of fresh air.  We knew then that we had found a perfect place for our Mom.  It was bright, cheery, and immaculate.  All of the staff we met with were professional and enthusiastic.  We met with Peter Goldschmidt who was so helpful to us during this time and went out of his way to find Mom the perfect apartment!!  We were able to decorate her apartment, so it looked just like her home.  Once Mom moved in things only got better for her care and services. Her apartment was beautiful, the food excellent, and the activities abundant! Now Mom is in Amaran Memory Care, and we feel confident that she is receiving the best possible care available.  The staff is wonderful, kind, and knowledgeable about what mom needs.  There are many activities at Amaran Mom can participate in.   You can participate in as much or as little as you want to.  Mom tells us she loves the Amaran staff and is happy there.  Everyone is so nice. My mom, who passed in January 2022, was a "founding" resident of Amaran. Over the last 8 years +/- she stayed at 3 facilities in Abq. One of... read more those facilities was absolutely the worse ever. Mom experienced very poor care, no attention to details in the facility and the "medtech" showing up at 10pm for moms meds... ...when she showed up. My mother was in such poor condition after a year we moved her out ASAP. The 2nd facilty was her longest term stay. They were great and brought my mother "back to life!" Then 2020 COVID isolation in her 2nd facility "killed her." Death was not COVID but the aftermath from the Isolation from everyone. The lonely elderly suffered. Isolation for over a year, no walking, no taking just all alone in her room. She simply sat all day on her sofa. Her body and mind aged 5 years during this time. What a tragedy this was. I hope others recognize this. Moving on... Amaran is a very nice, clean facility. I enjoyed a couple of meals and found the food ( Hamburger, teriyaki chicken) very tasty. The staff at Amaran was always attentive to my mom. In my mom's final 30 days the staff was non-stop checking on her, helping her and, at times, just sitting with her. I recall a couple of caregivers names however can't recall all hence will not disservice anyone by inadvertently missing a name. The only part of Amaran that was difficult were the hard surface floors. My mother had problems with her feet and the hard floors wore on her. We bought her a pair of "My Slippers" which definitely helped. My review is May 2nd 2022. I can only pray Amaran is still the same and COVID fears have passed and clear minds prevail. My mother wasn't happy with assisted living. We tried 4 times to have her in her home as "independent " however she would not cooperate with caregivers much less let them in her home. She always ended up back in the emergency room hence assisted living was her only option.

Coming from the Senior Living industry it's highly obvious that the community will be a success when it was paired up with an equally and highly qualified Staff and Directed by Luiz Trujillo!!! I think it's great that the Marketing, Director, Carrie and Dining Services Director, Chef Liliana who have already begun to show how careing and considerate they are for local philanthric causes! I was delighted to participate in a fundraiser prepared by Chef Liliana that was so delicious that I ended up feeding meals to all our friends and families that we could contact!!! 16 total for us alone...haha! Love it!!! Sold out!!! I was told! Woo woo!! With meals and menus prepared by such a talented Chef how could you go wrong! Senior residents spend a great deal of time in the dining room and they are really fortunate to have such a talented Chef to spearhead their meals in this industry! This is going to be one of Amaran's strengths! That's what I want for my Father when we are ready for the Senior Living Community in our future! Peter showed me around the facility and answered my questions without giving me a "pitch". Many of the activities encourage personal growth and engagement with the community. There are too many to list, but I was quite impressed.

I've seen the knowledge, care, and passion Luis and Jilmarie have when it comes to caring for our elderly and contributing to the Albuquerque community through various outreach activities (providing care packages with essential items during the COVID outbreak and making activity kits for Mayberry Senior Services to name a few). While Albuquerque has many great options for senior care, I'm excited to see this innovative concept introduced in Albuquerque particularly for families who've been affected by Alzheimer's or dementia.
